Learning Process

Well students, we are one month into the new school year and the beauty of school is it flows differently for everyone. For each of you these four weeks have either been the fastest four weeks or the slowest four weeks. No matter what these four weeks have been for you, before you know it we will be celebrating the end of another school year. Hopefully in between the start and the finish you will learn some important lessons from you classes and from your interactions with friends and teachers. So my thinking today is focusing on what is the ideal learning process for you? Here is an old Chinese proverb, "I hear, and I forget. I see, and I remember. I do, and I understand." How could this statement work in your behalf, or in other words how could you use this statement in your learning?

Well that is a true statement Mr.Conrad I hear and forget sometimes hearing something you can forget because it gets less interesting just sitting in a seat and listening and definitly do something helps me learn better like I said you are not just sitting plus it gets the students involved and we can stay awake and learn. Killing two birds with one stone.

Well this statement is helpful to me because i listen to what everyone has to say to me and i forget to do something like take my dog outside and i see alot of things like mountains, the hills,National forests, and i have been to many place and i can rememeber alot of things like i can fix a trucks engine and i can fix older style brakes and i do many activites like i play football, snowboard,i fixs vehicles, and motor bikes or dirt bikes and i understand that there is somethings in life that u have to do so you can live a good life and be apply to get things and not to let other buy stuff for you.

Just listening is not enough to learn and remember. If you are watching a teacher you may learn and take something out of their words. But the best way to learn and understand is to do. Whether its riding a snowboard or writing an essay, the only way to improve yourself is doing.

This statement is something that I would say. This is how I learn. I like to see and do things I learn. I think hands on activity's are best for me.

MAdison HArris: personally, i remember important things by going out and physically doing them, and by seeing different examples in different ways that catch my attention. Just sitting in class makes it hard for me to concentrate and it's hard for me to stay focused. Being involved is the greatest way to learn and stay tuned in the lesson.

For me that saying is all me. I’ll learn something and after a while I’ll forget the whole thing even if I do it but if I don't think of an interesting then I won’t ever remember it.

I'm a culprit of the biggest sort in reference to hearing and not listening many times. I definitely know the difference and I do need to do more listening and less hearing from now on.

Well that statement is true i hear i foret i see i remember i hear i remember and its hard for me to pay attention if a teacher keeps talking and talking and talking and does'nt stop i kinda want to sleep sometimes because teachers dont let us do enough hands on activites because we learn better by seeing and doing not by listening.

i would use this learning proverb in my learning everyday. i love too listen but i know when i see a picture or a presentation i cant remember what too do or how it should look and then understand why i'm doing this and how it would help me if someone ever asked or just to say i know.thank you

Wow I cant believe how the three or four weeks are going fast for me it does go by fast. I can never remember what the teachers say when they talk or tell you something for me it goes one ear and out the other.

I think that it is hard to focus in school in many classes and subjects are boring but you have to work hard in all your class cause the better grade you get you will learn much faster. Learn how to take great notes and write everything down that the teacher has written on the board.Because whythe teacher is writing on the board and the teacher has their back to the class so can't make eye contact with the students to get their attention and check that they are understanding.

Most people learn by seeing. I am in anat/phys and everything we do is hands on so we can learn it better. If we just sat and listened every day we wouldnt learn any thing. My dad always says you wont ever learn any thing unless you actually do it. So like it says listening isnt a way to learn. you have to incorperate listening seeing and doing to learn something
